Portugal Green Travel DMC: 3 Consecutive Years as the Best Sustainable DMC in Portugal
We are immensely proud to announce that we have once again been distinguished as the “Best Sustainable Destination Management Company – Portugal” at the prestigious European Travel Awards 2024!
This is the third consecutive year that our commitment to creating sustainable tourism offerings has been recognized, reinforcing our leadership position in the international tour operation landscape in Portugal.
With our operational headquarters at the Incubadora Instituto Pedro Nunes in Coimbra, we stand out for our innovative approach to creating tourism products and experiences that promote environmental, social, and cultural sustainability. We serve clients from over 12 countries across four continents, consolidating our presence in the global market, as evidenced by our remarkable growth and the dedication of our team of over 10 professionals.

In addition to this award, we were also finalists in the 2024 Tourism Leaders Awards in the “Best Sustainable Project” category. We are very pleased to share that we are also finalists for the Expresso and BPI National Tourism Award in the same category, as mentioned in our official statement.
“Winning this award for the third consecutive year and being recognized at the National Tourism Award motivates us to continue our work. These recognitions are a testament to the positive impact of our commitment to sustainable tourism practices,” says João Daniel Ramos, co-founder and CFO of our company.
This year, we have significantly expanded our operations, including new tourism asset management services, such as the tourist management of the Seminário Maior de Coimbra. We have intensified our strategic consulting offerings, especially in low-density areas in the Centro de Portugal, Porto and North, and Alentejo regions. These initiatives have been crucial in promoting economic development through tourism in the less-explored regions of Portugal, encompassing projects ranging from cultural revitalization to supporting local economic sustainability.
Hugo Teixeira Francisco, co-founder and CMO, emphasizes the importance of these initiatives: “We are committed to fostering not only tourism but also the sustainable development of the communities we support.” He adds that being recognized at the European Travel Awards is a “tremendous honor, but also a responsibility, acknowledging that our strategies can create a lasting impact on the destinations where we operate.”
At Portugal Green Travel DMC, we continue to lead the way towards more sustainable tourism, demonstrating that it is possible to combine business success with environmental and social responsibility.
